What day is this? The day the world would call “hump day”. The day in the middle of the work week. Half way to the weekend. To get through this day shifts from the uphill struggle to the downhill ride :)
To what end? THE WEEKEND!!!! But that is such a shortened view of life. Week to week, up and down, peat and repeat. “The grind”. Day after day until there are no days left.
But wait!!! Let’s look at this a little differently :) That hill, that “hump”, is not a repeating cycle of work and rest. Resting only to get enough strength to work again. It is a pivotal change from clawing your way to the top in your own strength to a juncture, an intersection on the way, where Christ came down and planted Himself right in the upward path of your own will, to break the uphill grade of self-effort and self-justification. Establishing a new path of dependence and acceptance. A ride if you will. A wild ride! One beyond anything you could think or ask. An exhilarating and exciting ride. Wondrous and awe-striking. Unbelievable yet right there to be seen and experienced!
So let this be THE DAY!
The When-nesday!
The day you choose that Holy Hill,
Where Christ was crucified and your weekly life was nailed there with Him.
From that hill, your life is changed. Forever riding the ride of your eternal life!!
Both arms up and screaming in wonderful fear because you are safely strapped into the seat. Seated with Him in the heavenlies. Forever and ever. Amen
