Mt 25:14-30
The master leaves town and gives his servants a share of his wealth.
Upon returning from his trip he finds that all but one of the servants had turned a profit.
Think of this parable in terms of salvation.
We Christians have been left with a share of our Masters wealth. A share in His Holy Spirit and a share in His eternal life while we still live in this earth. When He returns, will He find that we have multiplied His investment by sharing the good news and seeing sinners saved or will we selfishly hold on to that salvation and that be our only offering to Him when He returns.
We have the greatest and guaranteed investment strategy ever. It cannot lose and it demands to be shared. To not invest it, to not share it with others, would be a travesty, an affront to the Master and the value of His investment. To keep it to one’s self would not be an act of faith nor would it be an act of love…..or said another way, it would be an act of unbelief and hatred. I don’t know how that plays out in the “once saved always saved” narrative, but I know how it plays out in the parable. I don’t think I want any part of that :)
